14 Aug Contrasting Elements Glams Up the HDB 3-Room Flat at Blk 150 Ang Mo Kio
Although this is just a small HDB 3-room flat at Ang Mo Kio, the designer was able to build a walk-in wardrobe that is amazingly elegant and can rival other walk-in dressers in the area. The dressers and cabinets are done in black and dark brown wood, exuding the chic and classy vibe you get when entering a high-end fashion retail store. Ample storage compartments are available for the clothes, luxury bags and shoes of the owner.
The living room is done in black and red, with a graphic element just situated above the television set, making the TV the focal point of the entire area. The classic black and white is also present in the living room with a pop of red in certain points of the space to make the whole room stand out. The graphic patterns helped in adding texture, character and the urban modern vibe that this HDB flat deserved to have.
The kitchen is an entirely different story altogether that one would feel like he stepped into another apartment. The space is ultra-modern in design and appeal, and the black and white colour scheme completes the perfect look of the space. Open space is one factor that the designer considered to make it easy for the cook to move around while cooking and serving the family.
The bedroom is probably the most artistic room in the apartment. Two colour combinations, both black and brown and white and brown have been used to add drama to the space. Due to the addition of different graphics in particular areas of the room, texture and character are automatically evident. Because of the different elements that have been put together by the designer, this room was able to exude the personality of the occupant.
The bathroom is simple and subdued unlike the other areas of the HDB flat. White and striped wallpaper are the main colors and texture elements of this space.
